Portfolio Performance is more than just a tracker. The app also provides a range of features and options that allow you to really get a handle on your finances. For example, the app includes a handy calculator that can help you determine how much money you need to invest to reach your desired level of return.

How Well Portfolio Performance Works
Any investment decision you make will affect your portfolio’s performance. That’s why it’s essential to track your progress over time. Portfolio Performance makes it easy to do just that. Here are a few ways to measure a portfolio-managing app’s performance:
Ease of Use
One of the most important factors to consider when choosing a portfolio performance app is how easy it is to use. You want an app that is intuitive and straightforward, so you can get started managing your investments right away.
The Portfolio Performance App is designed with ease of use in mind. The interface is clean and simple, and all the features are easily accessible. You can get started managing your portfolio in minutes without any prior experience.
Helpful Features
When it comes to tracking the performance of your portfolio, the Portfolio Performance App is second to none. Not only does it provide comprehensive data and analysis tools, but it also offers several helpful features that make tracking your portfolio’s performance easier than ever before.
One of the most helpful features of the Portfolio Performance App is its ability to update your portfolio data automatically. This means that you’ll always have the most up-to-date information on your investment holdings, allowing you to make more informed decisions about where to invest your money.
Visual Presentations
The Portfolio Performance App uses easy-to-understand charts to measure the performance of a portfolio. By analyzing these charts, investors can identify trends and make informed decisions about their investments.
Access to these charts is crucial for any portfolio manager, as they provide insight into how the portfolio is performing. Charts can also be customized to focus on specific investments or periods. This allows investors to see how their portfolios are performing in real-time and make changes accordingly.
Highly Customizable Settings
The Portfolio Performance App is highly customizable. You can customize the periods, data sources, portfolios, and even the look and feel of the app. This makes it easy to use for different types of investors. For example, if you want to track your portfolio’s performance over a more extended period, you can customize the settings to show the needed data.
Meanwhile, if you want to track your portfolio’s performance across different data sources, you can also customize the data sources. These features make the entire software application manageable.
Access to Securities
The Portfolio Performance App also gives you access to market securities. These are essential assets that can be used to measure the performance of a portfolio. There are many different types of securities, but the most common are stocks, bonds, and other investments.
To measure the performance of a portfolio, one must first understand what securities are available and how they work. For example, stocks represent ownership in a company and usually entitle the holder to a share of the company’s profits. Bonds, on the other hand, are IOUs issued by corporations or governments and typically promise to pay periodic interest payments.

The Cost of the Portfolio Performance App
The Portfolio Performance App is free. All you need is a stable internet connection, and you’re good to go. That’s why many investors consider it a valuable tool when monitoring their portfolios.
The Portfolio Performance App provides access to market securities and can help you measure the performance of your portfolio. Additionally, the app is free to download and use. Therefore, the Portfolio Performance App is a good option if you are looking for a way to track your investment portfolios.
Setting Up an Account

You first need to download the software application to set up your account. Portfolio Performance can be used on computers running macOS, Windows, or Linux, as was already mentioned. Even though there may occasionally be plans for an app, it does not operate on smartphones or tablets.
Visit the website to download the compatible version with your operating system. After that, you set up and install the program. Read further to learn the next steps.
1. Set your Primary currency

The first step is to set your primary currency. You can choose any type of currency available in the market. The Portfolio Performance will also allow you to change it later, depending on your portfolio.
For instance, if you are a European investor with stocks in the US market, it would be easier to have USD as the primary currency. You can also set the period for which you want your account data displayed. The software application will collect and display this information automatically.
2. Create custody and reference account

After setting up your primary currency, you will need to create depots. A depot is simply a portfolio of securities, such as stocks, bonds, or other investments. You can have multiple depots, each with its settings.
To create a depot, you need to give it a name and select the type of security it will hold. You can also specify the number of shares or units you want to buy. After that, you need to connect your depot to a reference account. This account will be used to track the value of your securities and make changes accordingly.

3. Create more standalone accounts
You can also create standalone accounts which are unrelated to one another. For instance, you might have call money, a fixed deposit, or a current account. These accounts are not used to track the performance of your portfolio but can help monitor your overall finances.
In addition to your investments in stocks, funds, ETFs, and even cryptocurrencies, the Portfolio Performance enables you to keep an eye on all your financial transactions. It is a valuable tool to help you make informed decisions about your money.
4. Add stocks

Now that you have set up your account, it is time to add securities. You can do this by clicking on the “Add security” button and entering the relevant information. For example, if you want to add stock, you need to select the index to enter the data.
You can also specify the number of shares or units you want to buy and the price you paid for them. The software application will automatically calculate the current value of your securities and update your portfolios accordingly
5. Create classifications
After adding securities to your portfolio, you can now add purported classifications. These are the main categories you can use to arrange your investments later. You can choose from these options:
- investment categories
- Industry sectors
- asset allocation
- regions
- security type
After creating your portfolio, you can sort your stocks by sector to see how many are in the industry and how many are in finance, for example. For instance, cluster risks can be quickly identified in this way.
The Different Features of Portfolio Performance
When it comes to portfolio performance, there are a few key features that you should be aware of. After all, knowing how your portfolio is performing is essential to achieving your financial goals.
Here are some of the different features of portfolio performance that you should know about:
All Securities

“All Securities” is a great way to keep track of the securities you are interested in. With All Securities, you can add as many securities as you want, and they will all be displayed in one place. A table containing the name, ISIN, symbol, WKN, most recent price, and other information is displayed. This makes it easy to see your securities’ performance at a glance. You can also use All Securities as a watch list instead of buying every security you are interested in. This can save you time and money.
With All Securities, you will always have the most important information about your securities right at your fingertips. To get started, simply click on the plus sign in the top right corner (to the left of the gear wheel). Choose “Search for security” and then enter the share’s name, symbol, ISIN, or WKN. You must first create the security here in order to store purchases, sales, and dividends in Portfolio Performance.
All Securities is an excellent feature for anyone who wants to stay up-to-date on the performance of their securities. You can even customize these columns by clicking on the cog wheel in the top right and tailoring them to your needs.
Master Data

There are three submenus under “Master data”: Deposits Accounts, Securities Accounts, and Investment plans.
- Under “Deposits,” you will find your deposits, the linked clearing account, and the current deposit volume. You also have a list of assets here to see which shares (or ETFs, funds, cryptocurrencies) are in the portfolio.
- Under “Securities,” you can view your accounts, including reference accounts connected to securities accounts (or clearing accounts) and standalone accounts. The current account balance and an overview of all accounts are shown above; detailed transaction information is shown below (deposits, purchases, sales, dividends, etc.).
- You can then save recurring activities like share or ETF savings plans or cash payments under “Investments” so that you don’t have to enter them again each month. Therefore, Portfolio Performance takes care of the work if you want to automatically purchase a particular share on the 15th of the month through a savings plan or make a deposit into your reference account on the first of every month.
Reports

“Reports” is where you can go to see how your portfolio is performing. This is the most critical part of Portfolio Performance for most users, as it allows you to track your progress and ensure that your portfolio is on track.
There are a few different types of reports available in Portfolio Performance:
Statement of Assets
The first is the Statement of Assets, which shows you a snapshot of your portfolio at a given time. This is useful for seeing how your portfolio has changed over time and tracking your progress toward your goals.
The Statement of Assets is separated into 2 distinct data. These are Charts and Holdings.
● The Statement of Assets: Chars. It show all assets input in the Portfolio Performance app
● The Statement of Assets: Holdings. It shows a chart that can help you identify cluster risks at their early stages.
Performance
Performance is critical when it comes to managing a portfolio. After all, if your investments are not performing well, then your portfolio as a whole is likely not doing well either.
That’s why Portfolio Performance offers various features that focus on performance. With these features, you can clearly see how your investments are performing and what areas may need improvement.
One of the most vital performance features is the ability to view key statistics, graphs, and tables. This information can give you a good overview of how your portfolio is performing and where there may be room for improvement.
The Performance Tab is separated into 7 submenus:
● Performance: Calculations. It contains the breakdown of your finances, primarily your capital gains, earnings, fees, taxes, and other information.
● Performance: Chart. Only the index (or many) with which you want to compare yourself must be chosen here. The index and your portfolio or portfolios are now displayed on the chart.
● Performance: Return / Volatility. Your portfolio’s position, or how susceptible it is to fluctuations and returns, is indicated by a point on this scale. Additionally, you can contrast this figure with various standards.
● Performance: Securities. The bottom of the screen will provide more information if you select a “security”, including a price chart, your turnover (buy, sell, dividend), and the trades you have made with this asset. Details like your holding time are also visible here.
● Performance: Payments. It refers to your monthly payments that go toward your savings account. It’s separated into several tables: Month/Instrument, Quarter/Instrument, and Year/Instrument.
● Performance: Income & Expenses. Dividend strategists should pay close attention to this Portfolio Performance menu item. Here, you can view all revenue (dividends and interest) and all outgoing costs (fees and taxes) as tables, either separately or together, and as graphs.
● Performance: Trades. It helps monitor your trade performance to make sound decisions regarding your investments.
Taxonomies
Taxonomies provide a means of breaking down your portfolio into manageable chunks to see how each part performs. For example, you might want to see how your stocks are doing compared to your bonds. Or, you might want to compare the performance of different stocks (e.g., large cap vs. small cap).
Here, you can view various key statistics, graphs, and tables showing how well (or poorly) your investments performed. The top right corner of each classification then offers a table or a variety of diagrams for you to look at.
It’s pretty easy to access the Classifications Feature in Portfolio Performance. There is a small plus sign to the left of “Categories” in the Portfolio Performance menu; click it to enable more classifications. Click it to choose the category you want.
General Data
The “General Data” classification is where you’ll find all sorts of interesting information about your portfolio. This is also where you can change your investment currency if you so desire. You may access a currency converter and information on the most popular currencies under “Currencies” in Portfolio Performance.
You can also discover more about the bookmarks and characteristics under “Settings.” However, you hardly ever need to change anything in Portfolio Performance. Almost everything in the individual views and menu items can be modified and adjusted.
